How your data will be used

The information you submit for Sea Angling 2012, either through the online surveys or during face-to-face interviews whilst angling, will be processed by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and Substance to assess the catches and economic and social benefits of recreational sea angling in the UK.

It is a principle of the project that it will be open and transparent. Data and results will be available once quality-assured and processed to withhold any personal or commercially sensitive information following the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

If you agreed that Cefas, MMO, Substance or inshore fisheries and conservation authority (IFCA) staff may contact you in relation to prize draws, or to obtain any further information, your name and contact details or any photographs submitted will held securely and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

This website has been developed to provide information on the project and to report on progress and achievements. A final report of the project will be prepared in mid-2013 and will be available for download from the website.
