Get involved in gathering recreational data for marine planning

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is gathering recreational data for the South plan areas and needs your help.

If you represent a recreational marine activity along the South coast – from Folkestone to the River Dart in Devon – we would like to hear from you.

The MMO is committed to ensuring that marine plans are based on the best available evidence and this project aims to improve the spatial activity data we take into account. This is an important opportunity to help ensure that the recreational sector is fully considered in marine planning.

The MMO has commissioned Marine Planning Consultants (MPC) to carry out the project, and you can fill in the survey at their project page, www.marineplanning.org.uk/recreation-phase2, which also includes a project flyer which covers common questions and answers.

The deadline for taking part is 28 February 2013 and all responses will be compiled by the end of March so the results can be published by the MMO soon afterwards.

To take part in the survey go to www.marineplanning.org.uk/recreation-phase2 or for any questions on the survey please contact William Blake at recreation@marineplanning.org.uk or call 020 3219 5919.
