Under 10 metre fisheries notice on area VIId skates and rays, VIId sole and VIId/e plaice update
We monitor uptake for all fishery stocks on a weekly basis and publish this information on our website. Access the full set of spreadsheets.
We estimated on 13 August, 20 August and 27 August that three fisheries were approaching their uptake limits:
- VIId sole
- VIId/e plaice
- VIId skates and rays.
Today we can announce that monthly catch limits have been reduced in order to prolong the fisheries for VIId sole and VIId/e plaice.
In addition, at this point current uptake rates mean that VIId skates and rays is no longer approaching uptake limits.
We are working hard within our powers to continue to keep these fisheries open by actively seeking additional quota from a variety of sources.
