Summary of responses
On 10 February 2011, we launched a consultation on the new marine licensing system to be introduced under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The purpose of the consultation was to seek views on the draft marine licensing guidance series.
The consultation ran for four weeks and ended on 9 March 2011. This document summarises the responses received and sets out what we intend to do in the next draft of the guidance series. We thank the organisations and individuals who spent time and effort to respond.
A summary of the main points made by respondents is available. Where we have incorporated comments received into the latest revision of the draft guidance documents they will not appear in the summary.

Following a number of responses from the consultation it is our intention to make a structured change to the licensing overview process document to align it with the charging tiers.
