Introduction of eSales Notes
The UK fisheries authorities launched www.fishregister.gov.uk on 1 September 2009 to enable buyers and sellers to comply with the requirements to submit data electronically. Council Regulation 1224/2009 (PDF 1.8 MB) states that it is compulsory for buyers and sellers with an annual turnover of over €200,000 to submit sales notes of first sale fish electronically.
Buyers and sellers with an annual turnover below €200,000 will also be able to submit sales notes electronically if they choose to.
Those submitting data electronically will no longer be required to provide paper copies of sales notes.
The site contains the following functions:
- A data entry system for the electronic submission of sales notes of first sale fish to the relevant UK fisheries authority by registered buyers and sellers of fish.
- The facility to manage sales notes submitted by registered companies.
- Data entry system for the submission of takeover declarations by registered companies and members of the public.
- Up-to-date vessel register and register of buyers and sellers with search facilities.
- Registration forms and guidance for buyers and sellers of first sale fish.
Further information on the requirements and the methods of submitting data can be obtained by contacting us on 0191 376 2661 or emailing it.helpdesk@marinemanagement.org.uk.
