Quota management rules 2011

The UK fisheries administrations' guidance notes on fisheries quota management have been re-written and updated. The document is also available from your local Marine Management Organisation office.

All UK vessels, including those within POs, are subject to these rules, which are agreed yearly.

Total allowable catches and quota regulations 2012

Please select from the relevant total allowable catches (TACs) and quota regulations.

The total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas for 2012 were published on 17 January 2012.

Council Regulation (EU) No 43/2012 (PDF 1.5 MB) fixing for 2012 the fishing opportunities available to EU vessels for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks which are not subject to international negotiations or agreements.

Council Regulation (EU) No 44/2012 (PDF 2.2 MB) fixing for 2012 the fishing opportunities available in EU waters and, to EU vessels, in certain non-EU waters for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks which are subject to international negotiations or agreements.

Under 10 metre leasing scheme

The under 10 metre leasing scheme guidance (PDF 73 KB) for 2011 is now available.

Changes to the scheme include a leasing cap on the following stocks:

  • North Sea sole (5 tonnes)
  • North Sea whiting (10 tonnes)
  • North Sea skates and rays (10 tonnes).

From 27 January, North Sea sprats has been added to the list of leasable stocks for 2011.
